人日の節句

いつもそんぽの家高円寺のホームたよりをご覧いただき、ありがとうございます。
今日は五節句の内の1つ人日(じんじつ)の節句だそうで
春の七草を使った七草粥を食べる日だそうです。
平安時代から続く長い歴史を持ち、万病を除くおまじないとして食べる
と良いとされております。
七草は平安時代から続くしきたりでもあり、呪術的な意味ばかりでなく
おせち料理や正月料理などで食べ疲れた胃を休め、野菜が乏しい冬場に不足しがちな
栄養素を補う効能もあるそうです。
また、爪切りの日でもあるそうで、初めて爪を切る日でもあるそうです。
七草爪とも呼ばれていて、七草を浸した水や茹でたお湯に爪を浸けて柔らかくしてから切ると
その年は風邪をひかないという言い伝えも残っております。
