盆送り火

本日7月9日は、盆送り火の日です。
盆の最終日、先祖の精霊を送るために火を焚く。
また、川や海へ送る風習もあり「灯籠流し」または「精霊流し」が行われる。
祭壇に供えたものも精霊船に乗せて川や海に流す。
7月15日に送り火を行うところも多い。
また、月遅れの8月16日や旧暦7月16日に行う地方もある。
京都の「五山送り火」が有名で、毎年8月16日に大文字山でかがり火が行われる。
7月13日は「盆迎え火」、7月15日は「お盆・盂蘭盆会」。
若い人は、なかなか昔からの風習を行わなくなって来てたりしますが
改めて昔からの風習を行ってみるのは如何ですか?
